OUR BELIEFS

The Bible
We affirm that the Bible perfectly reveals God to all of humanity and every word in scripture is inspired by God and without error. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.

We affirm that there is only one God, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe God is a spirit, infinite and unchangeable.

We affirm that Jesus is God’s son; He took on a human body like ours, and entered the human race. He did not sin. He died for all the sins of the human race, was buried, came back to life, and returned to heaven. One day he will return to rule and reign and to take His people to be with Him in heaven forever.

The Holy Spirit
We affirm that the Holy Spirit who enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He calls men to Christ as Savior. He convicts and empowers men to live a God−honoring life. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and gives the spiritual gifts that serve God and His church. He assures the believer of relationship with God. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of Christian maturity.

Man
We affirm that man is the special creation of God. His destiny is to be in relationship with God both now and in heaven. Although we have tremendous potential for good, we are hindered by an attitude of disobedience toward God (sin), which separates us from God. Because of this man is in need of salvation.

Sin
We affirm that we are utterly incapable of living a perfect life by nature or by practice. Essentially, sin is falling short of God’s perfection and is evident in the broken relations we have with others and with God. It is an attitude of disobedience that results in separation from God for all of eternity.

Salvation
We affirm that Christ died for all of humanity by shedding His own blood on a cross and redeemed man. This redemption/salvation is a free gift to all who place trust in Jesus and ask for forgiveness from sin. The consequence of our sin/disobedience is death, but God’s gift is eternal living. Instead of listening and responding to sin, man discovers the delight of listening and responding to God.
